Today, we’re going to review the latest Macbook Pro 2016 model that Apple is offering up. They come in three different models: the 13 inch model without the new Touch bar and Touch ID. The 13 inch model that includes the new Touch bar and Touch ID. Lastly, there’s the 15 inch model with the new Touch bar and Touch ID. As a side note, we’ve included a video below this article that shows this machine in action.
According to Apple’s official website, this model is supposed to be more powerful and faster than ever before. And in the same vain, it’s supposed to also be more thinner and lighter by about 17%. The display is supposed to be 67% brighter which is the brightest, most colorful one that they’ve ver come out with to date. It boasts up to 130% faster graphics.
And getting back to that Touch Bar. It’s something new that they’ve introduced. They tell us it’s a Multi-Touch enabled strip of glass that’s built into the keyboard for instant access to the tools you want, right when you want them. It actually replaces the function keys and are supposed to be more versatile and capable. It automatically changes based on what you’re doing so it can show you relevant tools that you already know how to use.
It offers up system controls like: volume and brightness, interactive ways to adjust or browse through content, emoji, predictive text, and more. The Touch ID feature enables you to have instant access to logins and fast, secure online purchases with Apple Pay.
Mega Processor
Now, lets get into the main spec for this. They’re telling us that these new Macbook Pros deliver up to a mega 3.8GHz of Turbo Boost processing power! Up to 100% faster flash storage. And up to 10 hours of battery life. This definitely sounds like a very good set of main specs.
Better Display
At this point, we’re going to talk about the display. They say that it features a brighter LED backlighting system and an increased contrast ratio, which delivers deeper blacks and brighter whites. It also features a larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate that makes it more power efficient than the previous generations of Macbooks. It’s also the first model to support wide color which allows for more vibrant greens and reds. That ensures truer-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing. It offers 25% more colors than sRGB and a 67% higher contrast ratio
More Powerful Speakers
They totally redesigned the speakers so that they could provide twice the dynamic range and up to 58 percent more volume. They also deliver about two and a half louder bass for maximum boom. Another thing that was mentioned, is that they’re directly connected to the system power which enables up to three times more peak power.
Force Touch Trackpad And Redesigned Keyboard
They pointed out that the keyboard has been redesigned to include a new, second-generation butterfly mechanism which has been meticulously refined to provide a lot more comfort and responsiveness. Also, the new force touch trackpad is much, much larger which allows you to have more room to gesture and click. It’s actually 2 times larger than the previous version. The force touch also allows for precise cursor control and pressure-sensing capabilities. It enables Force clicks, accelerators, pressure-sensitive drawing, and Multi-Touch gestures.
Ultra Universal Ports
Getting into the ports. They tell us that they combined the Thunderbolt 3 ultra-high bandwidth with the ultra-versatility of the USB-C industry standard to create one revved-up universal port. It apparently integrates data transfer, charging, and video output in a single connector which delivers up to about 40 Gbps of throughput for twice the bandwidth of a Thunderbolt 2 port. Both the 13 inch and 15 inch Macbook Pros come equipped with four of these universal ports, giving you the ability to connect to them from either side of the computer. Existing devices would be connected with either a cable or an adapter.
The Brilliant MacOs Operating System
And, of course, we cannot forget what really sells these units: The MacOs operating system. It’s designed to take absolute full advantage of the brilliant hardware. It also features a lot of free applications. Some of them include: iBooks, Photobooth, iMovie, Garage Band and more. You also get iCloud service.
The Siri Assistant
Lastly, Siri the computer assistant is available on the units, helping you work seamlessly between all of your Apple devices.
