It actually replaces the function keys and are supposed to be more versatile and capable. It automatically changes based on what you’re doing so it can show you relevant tools that you already know how to use.

Better Display

At this point, we’re going to talk about the display. They say that it features a brighter LED backlighting system and an increased contrast ratio, which delivers deeper blacks and brighter whites. It also features a larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate that makes it more power efficient than the previous generations of Macbooks. It’s also the first model to support wide color which allows for more vibrant greens and reds. Getting into the ports. They tell us that they combined the Thunderbolt 3 ultra-high bandwidth with the ultra-versatility of the USB-C industry standard to create one revved-up universal port. It apparently integrates data transfer, charging, and video output in a single connector which delivers up to about 40 Gbps of throughput for twice the bandwidth of a Thunderbolt 2 port. Both the 13 inch and 15 inch Macbook Pros come equipped with four of these universal ports, giving you the ability to connect to them from either side of the computer.
